Funny Girl is based on events in the life of Ziegfeld Follies leading lady, Fanny Brice shortly before, during and after World War I and tells her rise from being an uncomfortable, unattractive, stage-struck teenager to national stardom. Her story starts with her young days in New York's Lower East Side, where the young starlet in the making bungles her way through burlesque and vaudeville, dreaming of making it big despite the discouragement of her friends and family, who tell her she isn't pretty enough for the stage. Additionally, it covers the story of her love for and subsequent failed union to Nick Arnstein, a handsome, sophisticated man whose allure Fanny finds irresistible. The show is full of the epic music that anyone would come to expect from a show of this caliber and included are several show-stopping numbers such as "People" and "Don't Let It Rain on My Parade". Since fans want to watch this one, tickets are fast becoming unavailable, so be sure to purchase your tickets before it is too late and somebody else gets what is meant to be yours.
