After meeting Nick Arnstein, a charming and attractive gambler with a softer side, Fanny's heart is immediately taken. The only problem is that Nick doesn't realize how she feels and is always disappearing on presumed "business" trips.
After a vehement encounter in Baltimore, Nick and Fanny readily admit their feelings for one another, and Fanny gallantly decides to follow Nick across the ocean. After Nick wins a bankroll, the couple gets married. But as with all good things, Fanny has to choose between her husband, who is growing increasingly dissatisfied of her success in show business, and her wonderful career as an entertainer.
