Funny Girl, which chronicles the narrative of Fanny Brice's rise from being a delicate, plain, stage-shy young teenager to national stardom. It is based on the happenings in the life of the Ziegfeld Follies star just before, during, and after World War I. Her story starts with her early years in New York City's Lower East Side, where the teenager stumbles her way through burlesque and vaudeville while hoping to succeed despite being disparaged by her family and friends who claim she isn't talented enough to be a star on stage. Additionally, it tells the tale of her love story with Nick Arnstein, a charismatic man about town who's appeal Fanny finds irresistible, and eventually, their subsequent failed marriage. The musical production at the Virginia/August Wilson Theatre is jam-packed with second to none music that viewers have come to expect from something of this quality, and it features several show-stopping songs like "People" and "Don't Let It Rain on My Parade." You can also expect some top grade performances from the actors and vivid visuals. Tickets are fast running out because so many people want to see this one, so make sure to get yours before it's too late and someone else gets what should be yours.
